One Bedroom Bails Accommodation in the Byron Bay Hinterland

Suzanne’s Hideaway has one 4-star rated one bedroom house it refers to as ‘The Bails’. The Bails, which was originally built in the 1920’s as a dairy, has been renovated into a luxurious holiday retreat set amid sub-tropical gardens. It offers one bedroom, bathroom, living and dining area, kitchen, laundry, covered patio, outdoor hot tub and gazebo, and a covered carport.

The Bails has one large bedroom that sleeps 2 people in a queen bed. A fold-out double sofa bed in the lounge area can potentially sleep another 2 people. Linen is included. The queen bed also has an electric blanket.

The living area is both comfortable and spacious and is equipped with a 4 person dining table, TV, DVD, CD, radio, phone, books and games. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, oven, gas hot plates, coffee plunger and a large fridge/freezer. It comes stocked with glad wrap, alfoil, salt & pepper, tea & coffee, sugar, and local coffee & jam. The laundry has a washing machine, drier and clothes-line. The Bails also has ceiling fans, air-conditioning and a covered carport.

The Renovation of the Bails

The narrow doors where the cows once entered the dairy are now long narrow louvre windows. The milking area is now a large open plan living and dining area with large glass sliding doors. The cool milk storage room is now a bedroom with high ceilings and louvre windows.

The waiting area for the cows before they were milked is now a large covered patio with BBQ and an outdoor dining setting. The elevated area where the cows meandered out of the dairy back into the paddocks is now a stunningly landscaped private sub-tropical garden with an outdoor hot tub and thatched-roof gazebo.

All accommodation types have access to the resort’s facilities including the tennis court, pool and gym.
